IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI

If you were an individual whose personal information was accessed by an unauthorized person or persons on or about October 9 or 10, 2018, you may be eligible to receive a cash payment and/or a reduction in debt up to $35.00.

A Missouri court authorized this notice. This is not a solicitation from a lawyer.

  • A settlement was reached with Valley Hope Association (“Valley Hope”) on behalf of all individuals whose personal information was accessed by an unauthorized person or persons as a result of an email “phishing” scam utilized to illegally access information from Valley Hope without authorization.
  • The settlement resolves a lawsuit about whether Valley Hope is responsible for certain potential losses allegedly resulting from the unauthorized access of personal information on October 9 or 10, 2018.
  • The settlement avoids costs and risks associated with continued litigation; provides benefits to individuals whose information was possessed by Valley Hope and was accessed by an unauthorized person or persons on or about October 9 or 10, 2018; and releases Valley Hope from any liability.
  • Valley Hope denies that it did anything inappropriate and contends that it complied with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • The two sides disagree about who would have won the lawsuit, or how much money individuals could have won at trial.
  • Your legal rights are affected whether you act, or do not act. Read Class A Notice or Class B Notice carefully.

There are two separate classes for the settlement.

You may be a member of Class A if you were an individual whose personal information was accessed by an unauthorized person or persons on or about October 9 and 10, 2018, and according to Valley Hope’s records, you owe no outstanding balance to Valley Hope or you owe less than $35.00.

You may be a member of Class B if you were an individual whose personal information was accessed by an unauthorized person or persons on or about October 9 and 10, 2018, and according to Valley Hope’s records, you owe $35.00 or more to Valley Hope.

Your legal rights are affected whether you act or don’t act. Please read the information provided on this website and the settlement documents carefully.
